The Diversity Dashboard undertook the development of its first prototype at the MIT Hacking Discrimination Hackathon. The Hackathon was the first of what will now be an annual event, created and organized by alumni of MIT.
Kari and Will recruited software engineers before the event (Yin who joined the team being one) including Yenifer Pragopati and Laura Paik. At the event after the one minute pitch and numerous discussions, the team grew to the largest at the hackathon by adding on Mat Lyndon, a doctor on a Fulbright scholarship from New Zealand, Himanshu Jain a big data expert and Yaovi Ayeh, another software engineer. They joined with Will, Yin, Martha, Yenifer, Laura and Kari for the event.
While we didn't have the time to create a full prototype, the discussions and the work done helped us to move the Dashboard from idea to the first step in becoming a software.
